XR Access Gallery

We have been collaborating with Blue Badge Access Style, who assess public spaces and hospitality venues for accessibility according to their database and publish a gallery on their website.

The concept is to recreate a venue's experience from the point of view of different accessibility preferences and characteristics with the use of eXtended Reality and spatial technology. This would allow an immersive experience tailored to preferences they set at the beginning and take with them as a persona.

Using various environmental parameters available for lighting, sound, acoustics, movement, points of view, etc., we'll aim to adjust these accordingly as they move around the 3D scene. These are scanned into 3D models using LiDar cameras, even on an iPhone.

While moving around the spaces, interactions will be triggered by location, or clicking to reveal relevant overlays of information points pertaining to their preferences, so people can preview the accessibility or barriers of a venue for them.

They can leave feedback for the venue staff and facilities management, whether to rectify or improve certain spatial aspects.

Apart from visualising this for a person's benefit, it will serve as a basis for staff training so they can gain real perspectives with immersive media instead of more abstract presentations and courses.

This concept was recently presented at CBRE, a global building services provider's Innovation Awards for their supply chain specialists.

We gained valuable feedback from potential clients on expanding it or customising versions of this for multiple sites, reusing the platform mechanics and templates for different scenes to scan, and even to consider adding an XR access layer to digital twins of building in collaboration with building designers and security partners.
